Commitment to Conservation

Connect your community to Nature

Volunteers are at the core of our Conservation Education efforts in the Borderplex region. They not only dedicate their time and talent to our mission, but are a bridge for our community to engage in environmental stewardship. Our volunteer program aims to inspire and support individuals with the tools needed to build a conservation conscious community through hands-on experiences, impactful projects, and personal drive.

Why Volunteer?

  • Support local environmental education initiatives.
  • Gain opportunities to work one-on-one with our animal ambassadors.
  • Earn volunteer hours through our unique community events.
  • Become a part of a greater mission, aimed to inform and connect people to nature.
  • Learn about exciting community partnerships and visit local places around the Borderplex all aiming to create a Conservation Community.

Adventure Assistant

As an Adventure Assistant, you will facilitate our Conservation Guardians Summer Camp and Nature Nurtures programs. You will work alongside our Conservation Educators and Animal Ambassadors to provide immersive, hands-on experiences that foster curiosity and empathy. This role is not about lecturing from a textbook – it is about creating “joyful experiences” that turn our program participants into lifelong environmental stewards.

Field Steward

The Conservation Society of El Paso is seeking Field Stewards to serve as the guardians of our Conservation Connection Centers. Whether indoor or outdoor this role is dual-purpose: you will help with maintaining the centers, while ensuring our visitors have a safe, beautiful, and educational environment to explore. Whether you are tending to our native plant gardens, animal exhibits or preparing indoor exhibits for a school group, your work ensures that the “connection” in our center remains vibrant and alive.

Special Events Volunteer

The Conservation Society of El Paso is looking for high-energy Special Events Volunteers to help us bring our major
fundraisers and community celebrations to life! From galas and silent auctions to outdoor festivals, our special events are critical for raising the funds needed to keep our programs running and our Conservation Connection Centers thriving. As a Special Events Volunteer, you are the engine behind the scenes and the welcoming energy at the front door. Perfect for larger volunteer groups or those who have limited commitment compared to our long term volunteers.

Community Engagement Ambassador

As a Community Engagement Ambassador, you will represent the Conservation Society at the city’s most
exciting community events and the driving force behind our public presence. You’ll be stationed at our vibrant community booths, acting as a primary point of contact for the public. Whether you’re encouraging sign ups, distributing brochures and flyers, or helping manage the excitement of a crowd waiting to meet an Animal Ambassador, your energy is what turns a passerby into a supporter.

Corporate Impact Teams

Our Corporate Impact Teams are designed for local businesses and organizations looking to make a massive, visible difference that best fits your team’s schedule. These volunteer opportunities focus on projects that require a large workforce to complete, providing your team with a unique way to bond while fulfilling community service goals. Connect with us and reach out to Olivia Siqueiros at osiqueiros@conservationep.org or 915-353-9820 to inquire about a volunteer day(s) for your team!

*While our team will do our best to place you in an area that fits your interests best, please note that once you are in our volunteer database or become a long term volunteer, we may reach out to you if we need help in any area*
