Conservation Guardians
Summer Camp 2026
Our Traveling Classroom is back! Join us for a summer of discovering LOCAL PLACES, WILD SPACES. Through hands-on exploration, campers engage with key conservation topics, gaining a deeper understanding of natural resources, local wildlife, and practical ways to make a positive environmental impact. Immersed in nature, children find inspiration and confidence to become thoughtful Conservation Guardians.
AT-A-GLANCE
THEMES
Critter Connections (Theme 1)
In this theme, our Conservation Guardians become urban detectives and discover the secret lives of the animals that share our city. From the birds in our trees to the pollinators in our gardens, campers will learn to identify local species and understand how to create a sanctuary for wildlife in any space.
Field Trips: Montessori West, Indoor & Outdoor Conservation Centers, Hueco Tanks
Desert Discovery (Theme 2)
The Chihuahuan Desert is full of surprises! This theme takes our campers on a deep dive into the resilient beauty of our arid landscape. We’ll explore how plants and animals survive and thrive. From the banks of the Rio Grande to the high-tech world of water desalination, campers will gain a new appreciation for the desert they call home.

Destination: Conservation Through Connection
Local Places
Through our Conservation Guardians Summer Camp, children do more than just learn about nature—they experience it firsthand. We take full advantage of El Paso’s local gems, such as Ascarate Park, to turn the city into a living classroom.
Wild Spaces
Our Conservation Guardians explore iconic local sites like Hueco Tanks State Park, where ancient landscapes tell stories of ecology, culture, and resilience. By grounding conservation education in El Paso’s own landscapes, we help students build a personal connection to the land, understand local environmental challenges, and recognize their role in protecting these spaces.
